Sleeping Farmer

Once a farmer was interviewing for new workers. The farmer especially liked one young man who seemed very joyful and capable. The farmer asked him, “What makes you think you can have the job?” The young man answered,I can sleep when the wind blows! The farmer thought that was a strange answer but he liked him so he hired him.

Not long after hiring the young man, a violent storm came in the night. The farmer woke up and ran outside afraid of the damage there would be to his barns and his animals. To his amazement, he found everything in order and there was no damage. He found the young man sleeping peacefully on a pile of hay in the barn. Then the farmer understood what the young man had meant when he said, “I can sleep when the wind blows.” He was fully prepared when the storms came because he had done his work well ahead of time.

How about us? Ah, some of us even cannot sleep at night. I can't imagine what would some of us do in time of troubles - when the wind blows.
